House Rupah is led by a rich man from the northwest, called Jaidee Rupah. He is ready to claim unclaimed lands to make a name and a legacy. His call to arms has drawn in many soldiers of fortune to bolster his loyal house troops. Among them are those who share his ideals, those who are out for coin as well as those who want to see civilization prosper and expand.

In A Year Of Rain, your army will be accompanied by a powerful hero. House Rupah brings 4 playable heroes to the table. Though, Lord Rupah is one of them and only available in the campaign.

Hero Lord Jaidee Rupah

Dominates enemies with thunder magic.

Abilities:

  • Watch Out Milord!: Evenly distributes a percentage of damage taken among all nearby units.
  • Favored by the Westwind: Summons a Djinni when falling below a set percentage of health.
  • Gale Strike: A wave of thunderous force sweeps out. Each creature in a small cone originating from you takes damage and gets pushed some meters away.
  • Unyielding Ambition: Dashes forward and deals damage to the first target hit.

Paladin

Paladin

Heals and protects her allies to keep them fighting. 

Abilities:

  • Lay on Hands: Instantly restores some of a friendly unit's health and reduces incoming damage by a set percentage for a couple of seconds.
  • Fear no Darkness: Shields her from some damage and redirects incoming damage in a small area on to the paladin for a couple of seconds.
  • Dawnblade: She dashes some distance towards an area and swipe attacks enemies in the area in front of her applying a debuff that slows down for a couple of seconds.
  • Night's End: She protects all units from incoming damage in a circular area for a couple of seconds.
 

Ranger

Ranger

Hunts and shuts down powerful single foes and small groups of enemies.

Abilities:

  • Burst Shot: Shoots arrows at all enemies in a circular area, dealing damage. The damage will be splitted, if more units are hit.
  • Relentless Hunter: Mark a target to have it take increased damage and reduce its movement speed for some seconds.
  • Dash: Increase movement speed for some seconds.
  • Monsters' Bane: Shoots an explosive arrow at a target that deals damage and knocks all surrounding units some distance away.

Spark Mage

Spark Mage

Lays waste to her enemies with powerful fire magic.

Abilities: 

  • Fireball: Deals damage to all enemies in a circular area.
  • Fiery Chains: Roots all hostile units in the circular target area in place for some seconds, making them unable to move.
  • Conjure Fire Elemental: Summons a fire elemental that attacks enemies.
  • Emberstorm: Summons a circular firey vortex for some seconds that pulls enemies towards it and dealing damage.

The Builder
Worker unit. Gathers resources and constructs buildings. Not viable in combat. Can retreat into keep.
 

Spearman

Spearman
Melee unit. Can learn the Reinforced Shields ability. Strong against ranged units, but weak against magical units.
 

Pathfinder

Pathfinder
Light ranged unit. Can learn the Stormseeker Arrows and Spirit Hound abilities. Strong against magical units, but weak against melee units.
 

Cleric

Cleric
Magical unit. Restores health of nearby allies. Can learn the Restoration and Truesight abilities. Strong against melee units, but weak against ranged units.
 

Runecaster

Runecaster
Ranged siege unit. Slowly attacks at long range with splash damage, and moves slower than most other units. Can learn the Warding Glyphs ability. Strong against magical units and buildings, but weak against melee units.
 

Knight

Knight
Heavy melee unit. Sustains more damage and moves faster than most other units. Can learn the Valiant Charge ability. Strong against ranged units, but weak against magical units.
 

Djinni

Djinni
Strong magical unit. Can learn the Thunderwave and Elemental Fortitude abilities. Strong against melee units, but weak against ranged units.

Keep
Main building. Trains Builders. Builders may return gathered resources here, and heroes can spawn here.
 

Barracks

Barracks
Main troop production building. Trains Spearmen, Pathfinders and Knights.
 

Elven Enclave

Elven Enclave
Unlocks Pathfinder production in the Barracks. Can research Reinforced Shields, Spirit Hound, Stormseeker Arrows and Superior Structures.
 

Temple

Temple
Secondary troop production building. Trains Clerics and Runecasters. Can research the Restoration and Truesight abilities.
 

Library

Library
Unlocks Runecaster production in the Temple. Can research the Warding Glyphs ability.
 

Stables

Stables
Unlocks Knights in the Barracks. Can research the Valiant Charge ability.
 

Floating Gardens

Floating Gardens
Advanced production building. Trains Djinnis. Can research the Thunderwave and Elemental Fortitude abilities.
 

Watchtower

Defensive building. Shoots projectiles at enemies.
